Join us at El Pueblo History Museum for our Hands-On History Fall Friday Classes from September 6th to December 6th (with the exception of September 20th and November 29th). Hands-On History provides safe, engaging learning opportunities for elementary & middle school students on Fridays when kids are not in school.

Class Themes:
Class 1: Art Adventures
Students will immerse themselves in art history, as they learn about a variety of historic and contemporary artists. Join us as we explore new art techniques and experiment with different materials as we create different types of art in this fun and exciting environment.
Class 2: The History and Heritage of People of the Past
Let’s travel through time continuums to explore the daily lives of people in Colorado history. Participants will learn about the 18th and 19th centuries as they become travelers of the past and learn about the daily lives of people in Colorado. We will travel through history as mountain men/women, people of the plains, and miners to explore the culture and heritage of people in Colorado.
Class 3: Survivor: 1842 History
Students will explore the history and various skills people at the El Pueblo Trading Post needed to survive in 1842-1854. Participants will learn how to track, trade, and thrive in Pueblo’s Early History.
Class 4: Colorado Changemakers
Join us as we explore the extraordinary lives of people who changed Colorado’s History. Participants will enjoy fun activities and learn about the impactful and brilliant people that make Colorado what it is today.
Class 5: Maker Space
Build, create, design, and experiment! Participants will develop various projects and activities using innovative thinking and problem solving skills as we explore S.T.E.M. topics and themes during this hands-on learning adventure.
Class 6: Rendezvous through Colorado History
Let’s explore significant events and people that have influenced Colorado history in the 19th and 20th century. Participants will focus on diverse individuals, movements, and events that shaped Southern Colorado.
