Join us at the Fort Garland Museum & Cultural Center for our Hands-On History Spring Friday Classes from January 26th to April 19th. Hands-On History provides safe, engaging learning opportunities for elementary & middle school students on Fridays when kids are not in school.

Class Themes:
Class 1: A Taste of the World
Get your taste buds ready for a trip around the world through food! In this class participants will explore, prepare, and enjoy traditional foods from different places around the world.
Class 2: The heART of the Valley
Take a glimpse of the history and culture of where we live through the eyes of artists in the San Luis Valley and Colorado.
Class 3: Toymaker’s Workshop
Gather your tools, because it’s time to tinker! Learn about homemade toys of the past and make a few of your own.
Class 4: Vamos a Bailar! Ballet Folklorico
Let’s Dance! Learn the art of Ballet Folklorico through traditional dances from different regions of Mexico.
