Camp Overview:

Welcome to "Dig! Junior Archaeologists" – an exciting and educational adventure designed for 1st to 6th graders! Our camp offers a unique opportunity for young explorers to uncover the mysteries of the past, right here in Colorado.

Camp Dates and Duration:

Our archaeology themed day camp runs from March 25th-29th, 2024, providing Denver area campers with five days of excitement, learning, and fun.

Camp Highlights:

Discover the Past: Embark on an archaeological journey as we delve into the rich history of the United States. From Native American cultures to early settlers, participants will learn about the diverse civilizations that have shaped our nation.

“Garbage Archaeology”: Campers will become budding archaeologists, equipped with tools of the trade. They'll experience the thrill of uncovering the stories buried beneath the surface, gaining insights into the daily lives of those who came before us and those living today.

Artifact Analysis: Campers will have the chance to handle genuine artifacts under the guidance of History Colorado Staff. Here, they'll engage in hands-on analysis, learning how experts piece together the past through careful examination of artifacts, pottery sherds, and other archaeological treasures.

Crafts and Creativity: Archaeology isn't just about digging – it's also about creativity! Our campers will enjoy artistic activities, from pottery making to cave painting, allowing them to express their understanding of history in a fun and interactive way.

Regional Focus: Each day will spotlight a different region of Colorado, providing campers with a comprehensive understanding of the state’s diverse history. From the ancient Southwest to modern garbage archaeology!

Memories to Last a Lifetime: "Dig, Junior Archaeologists" isn't just an educational camp – it's a chance for kids to make lasting memories with new friends, fostering a love for learning and a curiosity about the world around them.

Join us for an unforgettable week of adventure, discovery, and fun at our Spring Hands-On History camp – where the past comes to life in the hands of our young archaeologists!
