Join us at the Woodruff Memorial Library for our Hands-On History Fall Friday Classes from September 13th to December 6th (with the exception of 11/29/24). Hands-On History provides safe, engaging learning opportunities for elementary school students on Fridays when kids are not in school.

Art Adventures
Art shares historical and cultural snapshots with us in the most inspiring way. Students will create with painting, sculpture, collages, drawing with mixed media and more! We will learn about different artists and their styles and how they experimented to create such beautiful art pieces as we craft our very own masterpieces.
What’s Your Story?
Explore family trees, cultures, heritage and the history of our family names. Let’s learn how to tell the world how we got our names, celebrate our customs, and prepare our foods. We will share our stories of heritage with pride.
Journeys at the Junction
Join us as we take a journey to learn about all the wonderful people and things that travel
through La Junta/ The Junction. Students will investigate the history of what makes La Junta famous, why folks visit from far away places and the many reasons our town is a great place to call home!
The Poetry Place
Come experience the world of poetry through the eyes of people just like you as we study the history of poetry and some of the world's most famous poets. Students will learn different poem types as we create our very own artistic writings. Let's find ways to stir our imaginations and share our beautiful messages.
