Water has shaped Colorado’s history—from Indigenous communities to farmers, miners, and growing cities, who have all depended on rivers and waterways for survival. Campers will explore how water from the Rocky Mountains made settlement possible. Through hands-on experiments and history-based activities, students will discover why water has always been one of Colorado’s most important natural resources.

Roar! Dino Discovery

Long before people lived here, dinosaurs roamed the land we now call Colorado. Campers will learn how fossil discoveries helped scientists understand our state’s prehistoric past, including famous finds like Stegosaurus, first discovered in Colorado. By exploring the work of paleontologists and examining how museums preserve fossils, students will connect science, history, and the story of Colorado’s ancient past.

Step into the world of early civilizations and discover how people lived, worked, told stories, and invented long ago. From towering pyramids to early farming villages, campers will explore cultures like Ancient Egypt and Ancient Maya through hands-on activities and creative challenges. It’s a journey across continents and centuries to uncover the ideas that still shape our world today!

Campers dive into Colorado's history through the lens of it's native wildlife! From exploring and creating, campers will have the opportunity to learn about the history and importance of animals in the state. This immersive experience connects wildlife, people and places for a wild week of learning and fun!

Innovate! El Pueblo Entrepreneurs

Camp Description:
Ready to dream big and build something amazing? Inspired by the historic entrepreneurial spirit of the El Pueblo trading post, campers will design products, create advertisements, and develop persuasive pitches. The week ends with our exciting Entrepreneurs’ Market, where students showcase their creations and round up investments from family and friends!
