Join us at the Trinidad History Museum for our Hands-On History Fall Full Day Fridays from September 13th to December 6th (with the exception of November 29th). Hands-On History provides safe, engaging learning opportunities for elementary & middle school students on Fridays when kids are not in school.

Class Themes run for the duration of each month:
Making Music
In this class we will explore music throughout history and around the world! Students will learn about historical musicians, build their own instruments, and discover how music is made!
Trinidad Rocks!
Students will learn about the natural history of Southern Colorado! From the lava under the earth to the clouds in the sky, what has helped to shape Trinidad's landscape?
Creating Color
From dyeing wool to creating paints from the garden, students will discover how we can find color all around us! This class will explore weaving, plants, harvesting, light and color, and more!
Storytellers
From unusual sightings of bigfoot and UFOs to how people came to settle in Southern Colorado, this class is all about stories and how they are told. Students will have the chance to draw their own comics, create their own short stories, and even learn how to film stop-motion!
